Ay 2024-2025 “LET COLORS SPEAK” contest
I. OBJECTIVES:
- To create a meaningful and enriching playground for all students, especially those with artistic talents.
- To inspire students' creativity and enthusiasm in learning Art.
II. CONTENT:
1. Participants: All students from all campuses of the Asian International School, divided into three groups:
- Group A: IPS students
- Group B: AHS Secondary students
- Group C: AHS Highschool students
2. Topics:
- Your impressions and feelings about the world around you.
- Drawings of your favorite art style.
- Your dreams of a bright future.
- A journey to the future.
- The city you love in the era of science.
- The bond of your family, teachers, and friends.
3. Categories:
a. Drawing on paper:
- Individual: Students create their artwork on A3-sized paper (provided by the School).
- Group: Groups of 3-4 students create their artwork on A1-sized paper (provided by the School).
b. Painting on canvas:
- Individual: Students create their artwork on a canvas frame sized 30cmx40cm or 40cmx40cm (students bring their own canvas).
- Group: Groups of 3-4 students create their artwork on a canvas frame sized 60cm x 80cm (students bring their own canvas).
4. Materials: Free choice.
Students are free to use their familiar painting materials such as crayons, markers, watercolor, gouache, or other creative materials like clay, paper collage, and recycled materials, etc. (Students bring their own painting materials)
5. Contest Stages: the contest consists of 3 rounds:
• Preliminary Round: From February 3 to February 14, 2025
• Semifinals: Held at each campus from February 26 to March 7, 2025
- Selected students from the preliminary round compete at their respective campuses.
- Artworks in the semifinals are cross-evaluated by art teachers from other campuses.
• Online Voting: From March 17, 2025 to 11 a.m. on March 20, 2025
All finalist artworks will be posted on the School's 2 official fanpages for an online voting round to select the popular artworks.
• Final Round: Held at Nguyenvanhuong Campus on April 3, 2025 (intended timeline)
- All students participating in the final round receive a “Little Artist” certificate before the award ceremony. (Judges evaluate and give scores immediately after students finish their artwork. The organizing committee presents “Little Artist” certificates and prizes at the end of the final round.)
- Judging Panel for the Final Round: All Art Teachers, Fine Arts Manager, and Managers present at the final round.
III. REGULATIONS ON THE USE OF CONTEST ARTWORKS:
- All submitted artworks are the property of the School and may be publicly displayed by the School.
- The School Board reserves the right to use contest artworks for promotional purposes to encourage artistic engagement and skill development among students.
- Award-winning artworks will be alternatingly exhibited at different school campuses.
IV. PROPOSED AWARDS:
- Each student participating in the final round receives a “Little Artist” certificate.
- Award Structure:
a. Drawing category: 15 awards
- Group A: 6 awards (1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 2 Third Prizes, 2 Consolation Prizes).
- Group B: 4 awards (1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize, 1 Consolation Prize).
- Group C: 1 award for the most outstanding artwork.
- Group Awards: 4 awards (2 outstanding group awards for Group A, 2 outstanding group awards for Groups B & C).
b. Final round exhibition booths:
- 10 awards for outstanding artworks showcased in the final round.
c. Online voting round:
7 awards for the most-voted artworks on the School's official fanpages:
- Group A: 3 awards
- Group B: 3 awards
- Group C: 1 award
- Total: an estimated 32 awards (The number of awards per group will be proportionally distributed based on the number of participants in each age group).
